These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the VidMask mobile application and related services (the "App"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using VidMask, you confirm that you are at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) and that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you are using the App on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
2. Description of the Service
VidMask is an iOS application that helps you blur faces, license plates, text, QR codes, and other sensitive regions in your videos before sharing them. The App uses AI-assisted, on-device processing to detect and obscure such content.
VidMask is a privacy tool, not a full video editor. Detection is automated and assistive in nature. We do not guarantee that the App will detect every face, plate, or piece of sensitive information. You are responsible for reviewing your video and using the manual editing tools before exporting or sharing.
3. License to Use the App
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the App for your personal or internal business purposes on Apple devices that you own or control, as permitted by the Apple App Store Terms of Service.
4. Your Content and Responsibilities
You retain all rights to the videos and other content you process with the App ("Your Content"). Because VidMask processes content entirely on your device, we do not access, collect, store, or transmit Your Content.
You are solely responsible for Your Content and for how you use the App. You agree that you will:
- Only process videos that you own or are authorized to edit and distribute;
- Comply with all applicable laws, including privacy, data protection, and publicity laws in your jurisdiction;
- Review every exported video to confirm that all sensitive content has been adequately obscured before sharing it; and
- Not rely on the App as a guarantee of anonymity or privacy.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the App to:
- Violate any law or the rights of any third party;
- Create, process, or distribute content that is unlawful, harassing, defamatory, or harmful;
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App, except to the extent permitted by law;
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the App; or
- Circumvent any usage limits, subscription requirements, or security measures.
6. Subscriptions and Purchases
VidMask offers a free tier with certain limitations, as well as optional paid "Pro" features available through a monthly or yearly auto-renewing subscription.
- All payments are processed by Apple through your App Store account. We do not collect or store your payment information.
- Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends.
- You can manage or cancel subscriptions at any time in your Apple ID account settings.
- Prices may vary by region and are subject to change. Any price change will apply only to future billing periods.
- Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable. Refund requests are handled by Apple under the App Store terms.
7. Intellectual Property
The App, including its software, design, logos, and trademarks, is owned by VidMask and its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or branding. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that the App's detection features are accurate, complete, or error-free, or that the App will detect all sensitive content. You use the App at your own risk and remain responsible for verifying results before sharing any video.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, VIDMASK AND ITS AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE APP — INCLUDING ANY FAILURE TO DETECT OR ADEQUATELY OBSCURE SENSITIVE CONTENT — EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
To the extent liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability will not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or USD $50, whichever is greater.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless VidMask and its affiliates from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses arising out of your use of the App, Your Content, or your violation of these Terms or any applicable law.
11. Changes to the App and Terms
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the App at any time. We may also update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide notice within the App. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
12. Termination
These Terms remain in effect while you use the App. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the App and uninstall it at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the App publisher is established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory consumer protection rights you may have under the laws of your country of residence.
14. Apple-Specific Terms
These Terms are between you and VidMask, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content. In the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price (if any). Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the App. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
